Mish has been encouraging me to write a blog and since I already have one, I thought why not use this? I know I’ve been wanting to do so.
I, the selfish eye.
What a good place to start. I don’t know why a person, the I, would think it’s a good idea to use other people. Perhaps they never look at their motivations when they go into a situation. I know a number of persons who will even admit to using others; I’ll pick one: he’ll say, “I’m selfish, I’ll admit it. If I do anything good, it’s just to make me look good.” And I say, why not change then? It makes them unhappy to be selfish. This applies to a certain person in my life… and whenever we get into this conversations I’ll refuse to aid him~ It amuses me that someone his age would even think of being so immature. He’s 30! Maturity has little to do with age, I suppose. If you tell him, “you’re making the wrong decisions, and you know it. But you do it anyway and let other people control you. You’re aware of the problem, but you do it anyway!” People aren’t like… water, which has to boil when it’s heated. I guess it’ll take a lifetime for this person to realize his problems and not just know about them. Knowing and realizing are two different concepts!
Commentary on being a Hero
This was a rather hilarious conversation I had with Mish about Final Fantasy, Zack, Cloud and Sephiroth. First off, Cloud is emo. We have to accept that condition of this discussion. Second, Sephiroth tells Cloud, he’ll not be just a memory. I should probably leave that base alone and let the relationship between Sephiroth and Cloud exist without looking at the deeper meanings (lol yaoi?). I’ll start with Zack! Zack was the all-around complex Hero (not emo) who ends up dying and sacrificing himself for his friend. Loyalty. But, as Zack dies, he wonders if he’s a hero… Don’t tell me that’s his motivation for doing good; hoping he’ll be known as a hero! Look at Cloud as a hero: he fails. Emo, lazy, doesn’t care, can’t get over the past, can’t help the future until he absolutely has to do so… Sorry if this discussion seems really skippy, but since I’m assuming the reader knows what happens with the Final Fantasy 7 series, I’m trying to not worry about explaining the back story… and it’s not working! Long story short, Zack should have just let Cloud get killed and found a way to save himself! That wouldn’t be very honorary of him, but it would have added a nice dark complexity to Zack. Imagine this young man so eager to prove his heroism, much to the point that he’ll refuse to sacrifice himself! I should write that book.
Such a selfish person. It always comes back to that. This is all I know for today!
